Difference between suggested and required improvements
SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENTS
Depending on the specific AC unit you opt for, there might be certain supplementary components that would enhance your AC installation experience. To eliminate any uncertainties, we appreciate the opportunity to clarify the distinction between suggested and obligatory enhancements that your installation contractor may present to you.
Traditionally, contractors tend to bundle new AC units with a slew of additional features, which often results in conventional AC prices ranging from $8,000 to $15,000 and beyond. However, when the power steering pump in your car malfunctions, you don’t replace the entire engine, do you? The same principle applies to your air conditioning unit. When it’s time to replace your AC, it doesn’t necessarily mean that all other components need an overhaul as well. For instance, items like ductwork, thermostats, electrical disconnects, and so forth are not typically the culprits of failure. It’s usually just the AC unit itself that requires replacement.
At Duct 2 Go, we firmly believe that you should only pay to replace what’s actually broken. That’s why we empower you to make decisions about upgrading items for your new AC unit. Our carefully selected contractors will discuss these upgrade options during the on-site inspection. However, it’s crucial to understand that these are merely recommendations, and you are under no obligation to purchase anything additional from our installation contractors unless you choose to do so. The price you paid on our website covers the full installation of your new system without any additional purchases. Our installation contractors are highly skilled and will seamlessly integrate your new AC unit into your existing setup. We have secured the industry’s best pricing for your AC replacement due to several key factors:
We wield national purchasing power, dealing directly with manufacturers and bypassing middlemen.
We have negotiated competitive labor rates with our contractors for the installation of your new AC unit.
We do not push unnecessary items on you.
However, because each installation is unique, there are rare instances where mandatory upgrades are essential to ensure the proper functioning of your new AC unit. For example, if your current system is a single-stage unit with a single-stage thermostat, and you decide to purchase a new 2-stage unit, you would need to upgrade to a 2-stage thermostat. While there are definite benefits to upgrading certain components of your new AC unit, the necessity of these upgrades varies from case to case. That’s why we leave it to you and your installation contractor to decide which upgrades, if any, are suitable for your situation. It’s worth noting that most of the time, these are recommendations, and you are not obliged to upgrade anything that doesn’t impede the proper retrofitting of your system. Out of the thousands of new AC units we’ve sold, fewer than 1% of our customers have required mandatory upgrades. Given our cost-effective installation, many of our customers have the option to make suggested upgrades and still save substantial sums. If you have any inquiries regarding upgrades, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Please keep in mind that your designated contractor will discuss SUGGESTED upgrades to enhance your system during the on-site inspection. If you choose to purchase any of the recommended items, they will be offered to you by your contractor, not Duct 2 Go, and may involve an additional cost. You are not obligated to acquire any additional items that you do not wish to. In the traditional purchasing process, contractors frequently include additional upgrades with the unit they sell to you, even though these upgrades are not typically the root cause of AC unit failure. At Duct 2 Go, we entrust you with the authority to manage your budget.
Suggested upgrades may encompass items such as return/supply plenums, ductwork, condensate drain lines, float switches, hanging kits, thermostats, return grilles, and more.
REQUIRED UPGRADES
Required upgrades are items that must be acquired before installation to ensure the proper functioning of your new AC unit. Your designated installation contractor will provide you with details regarding any supplementary items required during your on-site inspection.
